Carlos Sousa Pinto has a degree in Systems Engineering and Informatics from the University of Minho, in 1990. He obtained a Master's degree in Informatics from the University of Minho in 1998 and a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Technology from the University of Aveiro in 2006. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems at the School of Engineering. He is the author of several articles and published book chapters in the areas of Distance Learning, eLearning, Domain Ontologies, and Services Science. He was director of the Information Society Course, under the cooperation protocol signed between the University of Minho and the Military Academy, in 2008. He was a researcher at the DeGóis Project (National Science and Technology Platform) since February 2012. He was director of the Master's course in Information Services at the University of Minho between 2012 and 2015.
